Maura K. Deming has extensive experience raising funds in the United States and Great Britain. She has developed successful major gift fundraising strategies involving organizational leaders and key volunteers. Maura has experience planning and launching fundraising campaigns, and implementing strategies for cultivating and soliciting major gifts. Her clients include: Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, and in London: The Prince’s Trust, The Globe Centre, University College London, Prisoners Abroad, British Youth Opera, London Community Foundation, The St Katharine & Shadwell Trust and the Colon Cancer Concern.
Maura prepares individual giving programs to fit into an overall fundraising framework and has a deep knowledge of implementing fundraising systems from prospect research through gift acknowledgment and donor stewardship programs. She has raised more than $5 million for her clients. Maura holds a BA in Political Science from State University of New York College at Fredonia, an MA in Journalism from Syracuse University, The S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, a Certificate in Fundraising Management from the University of Pennsylvania, and is an Advisory Board Member of the European Association of Planned Giving.
Julie Friedman has extensive professional experience in proposal writing and program development, management, training and evaluation. As a program director for the Philadelphia Health Management Corporation, Julie directed all intermediary project activities, supervised staff and coordinated 45 consultants. She managed the Pew Charitable Trusts grants application and review processes: developed and disseminated 6,000 Pew Fund application materials; created assessment criteria; performed and coordinated more than 1,000 proposal assessments.
Julie has collaborated with multiple state and local stakeholders in defining priorities and resources, including the Mayor’s Blue Ribbon Commission for Children’s Behavioral Health subcommittee. Julie holds a MS from Villanova University in Organization Science and Health Care Administration, an MSW from Rutgers University Graduate School of Social Work, and a BA from Douglass College of Rutgers University. She is a Licensed Social Worker in the state of Pennsylvania, and she has earned her certificate in Fundraising from the Nonprofit Center of La Salle University.
